The Chicago White Sox have battled through injury adversity this season to dominate the AL Central. The White Sox recently welcomed back Eloy Jimenez from a lengthy absence to start this year, and now another young star is set to return to the lineup.

That would be center fielder Luis Robert, who hasn't played since early May due to a hip flexor injury. White Sox manager Tony La Russa announced Sunday that Robert would be active for Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins, per ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

La Russa discussed the plan in place for Robert's return and how the White Sox will manage him:

“I don't know that he couldn't play back-to-back,” La Russa said. “[However], no matter how much you work out or are on rehab [assignment], when you actually play in the major leagues, there's a stress level there and a determination to dig a little deeper. So we have to be really careful there.”

Robert was off to a strong start this season before getting injured. He has a .316 batting average and .822 OPS in 95 at bats. The only thing missing was his power, as he only has one dinger so far on the year. He hit 11 bombs in 56 games as a rookie last season.

The White Sox are getting healthy at the right time. Chicago just swept the Cubs in the crosstown series to get to 66-46 on the season, which is 10.5 games ahead of the second-place Cleveland Indians. The hope is starting catcher Yasmani Grandal will be returning to the lineup soon as well. Grandal has been out since early July with a knee injury.
