Miami Marlins slugger Jesus Sanchez practically put this baseball in orbit. The 24-year-old absolutely hammered a pitch against Colorado Rockies starter Ryan Feltner that was measured up as the longest home run in MLB since 2020. The moonshot traveled a total of 496 feet, landing in the upper decks out in right field at Coors Field. Have a look at the bomb he unleashed that stunned fans in the Mile High City.

Sanchez took that ball for an absolute ride, nearly sending it out of Coors Field altogether. Of course, Coors is a nesting ground for massive home runs, but this moonshot was remarkable even by this stadium's standards.

Only four other players in the Statcast era have hit home runs as far as the one Sanchez hit on Monday. His Memorial Day blast traveled 496 feet, tying the distance on home runs set by Aaron Judge in 2017 and Miguel Sano in 2019. Giancarlo Stanton ranks second all-time with a 504-foot home run, also in Colorado, back in 2016, while the longest home run ever recorded belongs to former Texas Rangers slugger Nomar Mazara, who crushed a 512-foot bomb against the White Sox in 2019.

The Marlins outfielder joins an esteemed list of sluggers with his towering home run, and Sanchez was rightfully fired up while rounding the bases after marveling at the masterpiece of hitting he'd just put on.

That was the only run of the ball game up to that point, so while fans hadn't been treated to a ton of offense, one swing from Sanchez more than made up for the lack of overall run-scoring in the clash.
