The Milwaukee Brewers were not able to catch the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Central race, but they hope to be healthy for Tuesday's Wild Card Game against the Washington Nationals.
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun expects to play on Tuesday, and fellow outfielder Lorenzo Cain is hopeful he can go as well:
Ryan Braun confirmed that he expects to play Tuesday in NL wild card game. Lorenzo Cain hopeful too but TBD. Counsell didn't name starter yet but seems like Brandon Woodruff is logical choice.

Braun had to exit Friday's loss to the Colorado Rockies due to calf discomfort, while Cain has been dealing with a left ankle he aggravated on Saturday.
The Brewers had a huge opportunity to snatch the NL Central crown from the Cardinals this weekend. Milwaukee entered its series against the Rockies just one game back of the Redbirds and had been riding a wave of momentum. They were also getting some unexpected help from a divisional foe.
Despite playing their “B” lineup, the Chicago Cubs won their first two games against the Cardinals. The Brewers needed just one win to pull even, but they lost the first two games of their own series. St. Louis thrashed the Cubs in the season finale to clinch the division.
Milwaukee now prepares for a one-game playoff to see who will move on to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS. Adding a healthy Braun to the lineup sure would help.
The longtime Brewer slashed .414/.469/.862 with three homers in his final 10 games, adding some much-needed pop for a lineup that is without reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich.
Cain has also been stellar of late. He has a .856 OPS over the course of this past month, and he would surely give the Brewers a spark against Nationals starter Max Scherzer.
