Sunday afternoon baseball is back and the New York Mets can't seem to win a game. The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Mets the past two games after the All-Star Break, and it is safe to say Sunday's game didn't start well for the Mets.

At the end of the first inning, it was 6-0 Pirates, and how it got to that point is absurd. Just watch this play, and feel some pity for the scorekeeper.

So to sum it up as simple as possible, Kevin Newman hit an infield single, three runners scored, and Taijuan Walker was charged with a fielding error and the Mets downpour has resumed.

What a strange, bizarre, embarrassing play to kick off Sunday's game. Walker ended up recording just one out, giving up six runs (five earned) on four hits and four walks.

There have been plenty of bizarre plays in the MLB this year, and the Pirates were involved in another one earlier this season as well, with a home run being called back.

This one takes the cake, and what on Earth must the official scorecard look like?

The Mets' downfall continues and their spot atop the National League East might not last very long, especially after Jacob deGrom went to the IL earlier in the day.
