Kamala Khan just made her debut on Disney+ and it's unlike any other Marvel series before it. Ms. Marvel's bright and colorful tone sets it apart from the adventure-centric Moon Knight, or even Loki spanned a multiversal tale that ended on one big cliffhanger. We take a look at the biggest Ms. Marvel episode 1 easter eggs and what they mean for this show.

Ms. Marvel episode 1 easter eggs

Ms. Marvel, Marvel, Entertainment

Captain Marvel

As the first episode started, fans are treated to a montage of creative scenes depicting Captain Marvel's part in defeating Thanos during the events of Avengers: Endgame. It was then revealed that this was part of Kamala's vlog dedicated to the mighty Avenger, and her overall dedication as a fangirl to Carol Danvers herself.

Throughout the whole episode, it was explained how Kamala idolized Captain Marvel through different means, foremost of which was the costume she and Bruno were preparing for Avengercon. That said costume was part of a Captain Marvel cosplay competition, one in which the teenager hoped to win.

In that same competition, we see Kamala's schoolmate, Zoe, as one of its entrants. She wears a costume similar to one Carol Danvers wore when she first appeared as Ms. Marvel in the comics.

While the whole episode was littered with easter eggs and hidden trivia about Captain Marvel, this can be chalked up to the fact that Kamala is one huge fan of the Avenger.

Ms. Marvel's original creators

At some point during the episode, a plaque at Kamala's high school can be seen with several names on it. To casual viewers, this would pass off as a random inclusion. But to eagle-eyed fans, these names refer to Ms. Marvel's creators.

Some of the names that appear here are G. Willow Wilson, Ms. Marvel writer and co-creator of Kamala Khan, Stephen Wacker, editor, Adrian Alphona, and Jamie McKelvie, two artists who are responsible for coming up with Kamala's look and the modern version of Captain Marvel.

Apart from the plaque, other people involved in the creation of the modern Ms. Marvel that appeared in this episode are Sana Amanat, Ian Herring, Takeshi Miyazawa, Joe Caramanga, and Nico Leon. Their names appear in this episode at one point or another.

While their inclusion isn't necessary to the story itself, the appearance of their names is a great nod by Marvel to honor. their work in shaping Kamala Khan as the new Ms. Marvel for both comics and the MCU.

References to the MCU and its heroes

Since Kamala is a self-professed fan, not only of Captain Marvel, but of any superhero as well, the first episode of Ms. Marvel is filled with these references. One good example is right before Avengercon itself, Kamala's mother prepared a green costume that will make her look like a little Hulk while her father put on some face paint to cosplay as the big one.

Naturally, Kamala rejected this as she has already planned to go as Captain Marvel. Right after attending the said event without her parent's knowledge, Kamala and Bruno are bombarded with tons of references to other heroes in the MCU. There is a tribute shrine to Iron Man and Black Widow, shirts about Asgard, and a giant Ant-Man prop, among others.

And since this is a fan event, almost all who attended wore a costume referencing a member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes at some point. Technically, the whole Avengercon is one big easter egg filled with details from the entire MCU.

The Post-Credits scene

Just as Kamala discovers her abilities from a bangle she found, videos of her emitting energy constructs resurface on the internet. A lady shows this video to someone from Damage Control and tells his team to bring this girl in. This is Agent P. Clearly, played by Arian Moayed.

The guy in question here appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home as an officer for the Department of Damage Control. Although it would seem ordinary, this scene links Ms. Marvel, not only to the said Spider-Man movie, but to the entire MCU as well.
