Michael Jordan tried to upstage All-Star with fleet of Ferraris, shares former Wizards teammate
The competitiveness of NBA legend Michael Jordan is well-documented. Recently, former Washington Wizards teammate Jared Jeffries went on the Wizards Talk podcast to narrate his own personal experience with regards to MJ’s ruthless competitiveness.
It involved Jordan, Antoine Walker, and some Ferraris:
“We were in Chicago at [trainer] Tim Grover’s gym,” Jeffries said, via Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. “Antoine Walker pulls up in some Ferrari and he was like he just got it. M.J. was like ‘you know what? I’m gonna bring a different color Ferrari every day this week with a matching Jumpman jumpsuit.’ Bro, he pulled up in a Ferrari with a matching Jumpman jumpsuit for the whole five days we were playing. That’s the kind of swag he had.”
The moral of the story here is that you do not try to upstage Jordan, be it on the basketball court or otherwise. Apparently, three-time NBA All-Star Antoine Walker had to learn that the hard way.
For his part, Jeffries was obviously blown away by the Ferraris. But as it turns out, the 6-foot-11 forward was left more impressed with how this act showcased Jordan’s elite level of confidence:
“Just his swagger that never goes anywhere. It’s the realest form of confidence that I’ve ever seen from a person,” Jeffries said.
That’s one way of looking at it, I guess. Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Jordan left quite an impression on Jeffries.
We’ve heard a lot of legendary MJ tales in the past, but this one has got to be one of the best in terms of just how much of an alpha dog Jordan really was.
