These two teams have had very different starts to the season. The Golden State Warriors are one of the best teams in the NBA and have won their last eight games. While the Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the worst teams in the league, but have managed to win three of their last four. This should be a very uneven game and it could get ugly.

Oklahoma City Thunder: +12 (-110)

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Golden State Warriors have been dominant this season. They have managed to stay somewhat healthy, and now that they have Klay Thompson back they look poised to make a deep run. Through their first 53 games, the Warriors have managed to win 40 and lose only 13. They are coming off a 12 point victory over the Sacramento Kings. Golden State will look to carry that same energy and momentum into Monday's match in OKC. The Warriors should dominate in this matchup, they just need to come in ready to do their thing.

The Warriors are one of the most deadly teams in the league. Even when they face adversity and their best players struggle, they somehow find a way to win. No single player impressed in their win over Sacramento, rather they showed the definition of a team effort. Nine players saw 20+ minutes of playing time, and seven of them scored in the double digits. If there is one thing to point to that separates the Warriors it's that. Golden State could easily lean heavily on Steph Curry, and they do utilize him, but they don't rely solely on Steph to get them wins. The Warriors are a team, and an extremely impressive team at that.

Golden State is actually somewhat handicapped right now. The Warriors have five players listed on their injury report, only two of which have a chance at returning on Monday. Key players that are out include Draymond Green, who won't return until after All-Star break, and James Wiseman. When this Warriors team returns to full health their is no limit to their potential. Even with their injuries, the Warriors are still a dominant force in the NBA.

Why The Thunder Could Cover The Spread

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been one of the more underwhelming teams in the league. The Thunder have shown little potential this season and are not looking like they will end up anywhere near the playoffs. Through their first 52 games, they only have 17 wins and 35 losses. They are coming off a 10 point loss to the Sacramento Kings, the same team that the Warriors just beat by 12. There may be little hope for this team to come out ahead against Golden State, but they could keep it close. The Thunder have a tall task ahead of them, but OKC could end up making things interesting.

While they may have lost to the Kings, the Thunder actually managed to win the three games prior. OKC has been leaning heavily on Luguentz Dort, who led the team in scoring in two of their three wins. Dort missed their last match, and as a result the Thunder were defeated. His status going into Monday's game is questionable, and could have big implications on the outcome. OKC severely lacks depth and so if Dort is out, then the Thunder may just have to wave the white flag.

Beyond Lu Dort, the Thunder have been on the wrong side of many injuries. OKC currently has six players listed on their injury report. Of the six, only Lu Dort is listed as questionable for the match. Shai Gilgeous Alexander's absence has also been detrimental to this team, and he will remain out on Monday. The Thunder really have very few players to turn to, and without Dort and SGA they will almost certainly be dominated in this matchup.

Final Warriors-Thunder Prediction & Pick

This game should not be close. If Dort plays maybe he'll be able to spark something in the Thunder and help them be somewhat competitive, but even that is going out on a limb. The Warriors are by far the better team and they should crush OKC. The Thunder lack the depth, the star power, and really just the skill to keep up with the Warriors. Golden State may not cover, but they are a better bet than the Thunder. Pick the Warriors to win and cover.
