LaMelo Ball had himself a game for the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night as he led his team to an easy 141-119 win over the Detroit Pistons. The reigning Rookie of the Year stuffed the stat sheet yet again and this time around, he propelled himself to LeBron James and Luka Doncic territory.

After dropping 31 points on 10-of-14 shooting, five rebounds, 12 assists, and four steals, Ball became only the third player in NBA history behind LeBron and Luka to amass this type of stat line before turning 21 (h/t StatMuse on Twitter):

LaMelo balled out for the Hornets on Thursday. He caught fire early on and he never lifted his foot off the gas pedal. The newly-minted first-time All-Star also went 7-of-9 from distance to round out his dazzling performance.

This was a huge win for Ball and Co. as they've now put an end to what was a miserable six-game losing skid. That streak has seen the Hornets fall out of the playoff picture out East and they're hoping that Thursday's win kickstarts a good run for them. Charlotte returns to action on Saturday in a back-to-back test against a surging Memphis Grizzlies side. All eyes will be on LaMelo Ball and Ja Morant as two of the top young players in the NBA battle it out.
