Charlotte Hornets young star LaMelo Ball is staying locked in after his team took down the top two teams of both the East and the West. After a huge 106-102 win over Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors earlier this week, the Hornets then took down the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night with a resounding 97-87 home win to claim their fourth straight W.

It was a career night for the reigning ROTY as Ball got to 14 dimes and added 11 points to help lead the Hornets against the East's current top team. But, Melo kept it real when he was asked what the reason behind their recent success has been:

“Pretty much just meshing together,” Ball said (via Hornets). “I mean, we all in it as a team and we're just getting it done,”

And it was that team formula that helped them grab an impressive win against the Wizards. Four of the Hornets' starters got to double digits on Wednesday with Terry Rozier leading the way with 19 points and Miles Bridges adding 17 while starting big man Mason Plumlee also matched Ball's 11 points. Kelly Oubre, Jr. also came off the bench with 14 points while Jaden McDaniels also chipped in 11 of his own.

It's been a roller coaster ride all season for the Hornets. Before this winning streak, Charlotte was actually in a five-game slump but has quickly recovered since. With LaMelo Ball spearheading things, it seems as though the young Hornets are slowly finding their identity early this season as they climb their way up the East standings.
