The Chicago Bulls are riding a high this city hasn't experienced since Derrick Rose. Behind the heroics of DeMar DeRozan (especially in the clutch) and Zach LaVine, as well as dependable performances from their supporting cast, they've jumped up to the top of the Eastern Conference. Currently, they have a league-best nine-game winning streak, proving their mettle as one of the best in the league.

Despite that, though, Billy Donovan is not satisfied. When asked about the Bulls' winning streak, their head coach responded with one area that he feels like the team can be better. (via K.C. Johnson)

Coming into the season, many projected the Bulls' defense to be the weak link of this team. They had talented scorers in LaVine, DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic, but all three of them were considered as “liabilities” on D. An early-season bump seemed to prove these concerns wrong, as the Bulls fielded a top-1o defense in the first two months.

However, they seem to have regressed over time. The Bulls aren't as bad on defense as initially projected by most fans (still ranking 13th in defensive rating). Knowing that this team has the capability to be a top-10 defense, though, means that Donovan is expecting that performance from them all the time.

The Bulls certainly have the talent to be an elite defense. Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso are lockdown defenders who can guard the best guards in the league. Ayo Dosunmu is emerging as one of the premier defensive talents. LaVine and DeRozan are actually trying not to be turnstiles. All this team needs is a little push to be an elite two-way team.
