The Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks have not had a lot of success so far this season. They are both currently ranked 13th in their respective conferences and are struggling to win games on a regular basis. However on Friday night, they did not look like teams bound to end the season at the bottom of the standings.
With the Bulls and Mavs facing off, they proved that they can produce points when needed the most as they combined for a total of 30 in the last 60 seconds of the game. The Bulls scored 11 while the home team tried their best to send the game into overtime, with 19 of their own.
Article Continues BelowThe nine-point lead the Bulls had entering the last minute, coupled with the 11 they scored proved to be enough for them to have the rare road win. That snapped a three-game losing streak for them and improved their record to 14-25. However, the team played the second of their back-to-back set on Saturday and looked very tired, resulting to a 39-point defeat against the Indiana Pacers, 125-86.
If there's any good news despite losing the following night, the Bulls have proven that they can score in bunches and only need a short time to do it. The same goes for the Mavs, who could carry the momentum with them as well to help them string a few wins together. It may be a tall order for both teams to make the playoffs but it's definitely possible for them to end a season with respectable win-loss slates.
