Anthony Davis is not playing on Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. So when will the former Los Angeles Lakers star make his Dallas Mavericks debut?
Davis is preparing to join the Mavs after getting traded in the Luka Doncic deal. Mavs fans are upset about the team's decision to move on from Luka, but Davis could find success in Dallas. While speaking to reporters during the Mavericks' shoot-around on Tuesday, the All-Star big man provided a potential timeline for his Mavs debut, via Tim Bontemps of ESPN.
“I'll go through a workout today, see how I feel, and depending on that, get another one in tomorrow,” Davis said. “And then depending on that, see how I feel. If not Thursday, then more than likely Saturday at home.”
Barring any setbacks, it appears as if Davis will make his Mavericks debut on Saturday against the Houston Rockets at home. He did not rule out the possibility of playing on Thursday in Boston against the Celtics, however.

Max Christie, who was also included as part of the trade, is available on Tuesday. Davis is still dealing with an abdominal injury, though. The Mavs will proceed with caution before making him available for his first game with the team.
Christie could make his debut against the 76ers. A 21-year-old guard, Christie has an opportunity to take a step forward in his career with the Mavs.
The same can be said for Davis. Dallas will be looking for AD and Kyrie Irving to lead the way following Doncic's departure. Davis has enjoyed a tremendous career, and it will be interesting to follow his next chapter with a new team. If he plays up to his full potential, Davis could make a significant impact alongside Irving in Dallas.
We will continue to monitor and provide updates on Anthony Davis' potential date for his Mavericks debut.
