The Golden State Warriors are fresh off of an NBA Finals victory and the last thing Dubs fans are thinking about is the 2022 NBA Draft. However, the organization is preparing for the draft as the Warriors look to continue churning out winning seasons. Despite owning a late first round pick, the Warriors understand how valuable the draft can be. They have a knack for turning underwhelming prospects into quality NBA talent.
Today, we are taking a look at 2 players the Warriors must avoid in the 2022 draft.
Golden State will have plenty of options throughout the this year's draft. But these 2 players are guys the Dubs need to pass on. Although these players have talent and potential, they simply do not profile well for the Warriors.

2 players Warriors must avoid in 2022 NBA Draft
Dalen Terry, Arizona
Dalen Terry projects as a late first round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. It's feasible that he is still available by the time the Warriors number 28 pick rolls around. However, Golden State should steer clear of Terry.
In all transparency, I believe Terry has an opportunity to be a successful NBA player. The Arizona product is an athletic combo guard who could realistically play on the wing. However, his play style simply doesn't mesh with the Warriors brand of basketball.
Sure, he plays at a quick pace and offers defensive versatility. But he isn't much of a shooter. And Golden State excels at getting the most out of shooters. So his overall ceiling may be negatively impacted with the Warriors. Even his NBA Scouting Live report lists shooting as one of his main weaknesses.
His athleticism and defensive prowess will make him a valuable player in the NBA. But the Warriors need to let another team take a chance on him. He isn't worth a first round pick for Golden State.

Kendall Brown, Baylor
Kendall Brown is a similar player to Dalen Terry. Brown is considered a high upside prospect and offers versatility given his ability to play guard or forward. At 6'8, teams could slot him at multiple different positions.
However, he tends to prefer driving to the rim due to his lack of a jump shot. Additionally, he is a mediocre playmaker and ball handler. His skill set tends to focus on athleticism, high energy, defense, and transition offense.
Brown isn't a tremendous scorer but is he effective in the transition game. But he wouldn't be a good fit for the Warriors up-temp offense. Golden State runs a fast-paced offensive attack even when they are not in transition. Steve Kerr's game plan revolves around numerous cuts and three-point shooting. Kendall Brown is a hesitant three-point shooter and profiles as a potential detriment to the Warriors brand of play.
Although Brown is projected to go in the late first round, he profiles more as a second rounder. He could develop into a star down the road if he gains confidence on the offensive end. But there are no indications of elite offensive potential.
Brown would likely be a role player for Golden State during his Warriors tenure. But the Dubs should roll with someone who better fits their system.
Final thoughts
Dalen Terry and Kendall Brown both could go on to have excellent NBA careers. But the Warriors have a particular method to their madness and neither player fits their strategy.
