It was a case of another day, another NBA record for Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry. On Sunday night, in a 117-113 victory over the Sacramento Kings, Curry hit his 83rd 3-pointer for the month of April, surpassing Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden’s record for most 3-pointers made in a single month.

With a few days left in the month, Curry has a couple of more games to separate himself from the rest of the pack and make sure that this particular record won’t be broken for some time. The three-time NBA champion has been on a tear recently, with four games of at least double-digit 3-pointers this month compared to just two games with fewer than four triples.

It has gotten to a point where it seems as if it’s only a matter of when, not if, the 32-year-old can break all NBA records related to 3-point shooting. Curry already owns the records for most 3-pointers made in a season (402), most consecutive games with a 3-point field goal made (157), and seasons leading the league in 3-point field goals (5), among other milestones.

Now in his 12th year in the league, there is little doubt that the two-time MVP is the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen. But given that he’s still in the prime of his career, he has a chance to break some more 3-point records.

1. Most 3-Point Contest wins

Current Holders: Larry Bird, Craig Hodges (3)

The 3-Point Contest may only be seen as a side event at All-Star Weekend, but all the great outside shooters in the league have made their mark at the contest, including Stephen Curry himself. The Warriors guard has participated in the event seven times, winning twice, including this year’s 3-Point Contest, where he set the record for most points with 31.

But despite his success at the 3-Point Contest, there are still a few records that he hasn’t broken, including the most number of wins. Curry first won the contest in 2015 and has two titles, but Larry Bird and Craig Hodges remain tied for the lead with three titles each, which they won in consecutive years. But if Curry participates in the event for the next couple of seasons, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him as the greatest winner in the event’s history.

2. Most 3-pointers made in a game

Current Holder: Klay Thompson (14)

Stephen Curry’s backcourt partner and fellow Splash Brother is also one of the greatest outside shooters the league has seen, and he owns a few 3-point records himself. One of them is for the most number of triples in a game, which he set when he hit 14 3-pointers in a game against the Chicago Bulls in October 2018.

Curry actually owned the record for a couple of seasons after draining 13 in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans in November 2016 before Thompson rewrote the record books. It will take a lot for a player to hit 15 treys in a single game, but if there’s any player who can do it, it’s definitely Curry, who has said earlier this month that this record is certainly “gettable.”

3. Most 3-pointers made in a career

Current Holder: Ray Allen (2,937)

Back in January, Stephen Curry surpassed Reggie Miller for second on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers made list, doing it in just 715 games. Only Ray Allen, who made 2.937 3-pointers in 1,300 games, has made more long-range bombs than Curry.

With 2,768 made triples so far, this is one of those 3-point records that he will definitely reach. Whether it happens this season or next year remains unclear, but Curry has been on a tear recently, and it’s hard to bet against him. When he does surpass Allen, owning this record will only cement his place in history as the greatest 3-point shooter the league has ever seen.
