Kevin Durant‘s dagger three-point shot with 45 seconds left in regulation sucked the life out of a Quicken Loans Arena crowd that had been rabidly cheering on their Cleveland Cavaliers, who had managed to dictate the pace of the game and held a decently sizable lead in the fourth quarter before the Golden State Warriors star took over. The shot gave the Warriors a 114-113 lead and consequently a 118-113 Game 3 win to go up 3-0 in the NBA Finals.

A straight up, unassisted, three-point pull up jumper was all it took to crush dreams and his teammate Draymond Green knew it was the moment Durant had been waiting to have all along this postseason.

“He knew he was taking that shot the whole way,” Green told reporters post-game, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN. “That was huge. He wanted that moment.”

Durant's shot was perhaps bigger in significance than in value, hitting a gutsy, clutch shot down the stretch over the outstretched arm of arguably the best player in the world, LeBron James, in a moment that is sure to live in the minds of many who've watched these NBA Finals.

“He took over,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “You can tell, he knows this is his moment. He's been an amazing player in this league for a long time and I think he senses this is his time, his moment, his team.”

Despite the praise and momentum from a come-from-behind win, the Warriors forward knows it's not over until a team wins four games — task he's looking to put to rest on Friday night at the Q.

“It's not over,” Durant said. “Job's not done. … We still got a lot of work left to do.”
