The Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night were able to squeeze out a critical win in Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers to grab a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.

Kevin Durant led the charge with eight of his team-high 31 points in the final minute of the fourth quarter to help fuel an 11-0 run to end the game and shock the Cavaliers. Following the game, Draymond Green stated that the Warriors did not need Durant until the NBA Finals.

“He wants that moment. Down the stretch, he made plays for us. When you got guys out there like KD, but Steph and Klay these guys are other options that's tough to guard. KD stepped up and made plays. It's funny because I told him early in the year I said “it's cool that you are here, but we really don't need you for the regular season bro we are going to need you for the NBA Finals. And he stepped up big and made plays for us. “

Durant has stepped up huge through the first three games of the NBA Finals with a double-double of 34.0 points on 56.1 percent shooting from the field and 52.4 percent from 3-point range along with 10.0 rebounds per game. He has scored at least 30 points while shooting better than 53.0 percent from the field.

Keep in mind, Durant had joined a team that had won a record 73 games in the regular season last year and was just a game away from being back-to-back NBA champions. His addition to the mix has made the Warriors a seemingly unbeatable offensive juggernaut that features three of the best scorers in the league.

With Golden State's core all in the prime of their career, they could foreseeably be back on this stage many more times over the next several years.
