Despite three seasons at the top of the NBA standings, Draymond Green notes a particular difference between this year's team and the one that went on a championship run last year.
“You're a little bit hungrier trying to get something or go get something back than you are when you got it,” Green told Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News, alluding the Cleveland Cavaliers might be going through that same sensation this time around.
Regardless of the reasons why the Golden State Warriors failed to close out one last game to crown themselves champions in 2015-16, there is a certain hunger about having a feat within grasp and not achieving it — to climb that far up the tree, but fall before snatching the apple.
Green also brought up the difference in experience factor going into a championship run, claiming that there is a certain unmatchable motivation for wanting to get there the first time.

“Also it's a completely different team,” the Warriors forward added. “We've got, what, five guys on this team that have won championships? Six? So it's a completely different team. As opposed to last year you had 12 or 13 guys that had won championships.”
While experience and veteran savvy do count for a lot, so does the hunger for wanting to reach a long-term goal for the first time.
The Warriors boast a much less-experienced roster this time around, but the key pieces in the equation know what it's like to be in the moment and will likely pass the knowledge along to bolster this team's chances through a long postseason.
