The Golden State Warriors cruised to another convincing win in Game 2 topping the Cleveland Cavaliers, 132-113 on Sunday night to grab a commanding lead in the NBA Finals.

Kevin Durant was once again at the forefront of notching a double-double with a game-high 33 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the field along with 13 rebounds, six assists, five blocks, and three steals. According to ESPN, this performance has put him in elite company in NBA Finals history.

Durant has continued to show he can score at ease against the Cavaliers, proving to have the upper hand against Kevin Love through the first two games. He had also scored a playoff-high 38 points in Game 1 on Thursday night. The former MVP is averaging 35.5 points per game on 56.3 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent from three-point range along with 11.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest.

The fact that Durant joins the likes of Hakeem Olajuwon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Tim Duncan shows the tremendous level of impact that he had in Game 2. He was a factor both ends of the floor throughout the contest and that could remain much of the same moving forward as Cleveland doesn't appear to have an answer for him.

If Kevin Durant continues on this trend and the Warriors win the NBA Finals, there is no question that he is the clear-cut choice to be named the MVP of the series.
