Today, Kevin Durant officially signed a two-year, $54 million dollar contract with the Golden State Warriors.

The Dubs presented the seven-time star in their introductory press conference, and he took a number of questions from the media regarding his decision.

When asked how he felt about leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant told reporters that it took him two to three days to think it through, but it was difficult:

That call to Oklahoma City was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my life. Tears were shed.

After a few softer questions, one reporter asked Durant about fan resentment, and if he felt guilty about the decision that he made.

Durant answered:

Nah, We live in this superhero comic book world where you're a villain or a superhero in this position. I know I haven’t changed as a person, I don’t treat people any differently because I made a decision to play basketball in another city. I understand the fans in OKC and basketball fans around the world are upset, but I made a decision based upon how I felt. It’s the best decision for me. I can’t really control how you feel. I’m sorry you feel that way. I will continue to live my life, life goes on, and I have a short amount of time to play basketball, I just want to enjoy every bit of it.

Durant also says he plans on staying in the Bay Area, wanting to avoid another difficult free agency process.

This is what free agency is all about: making moves to improve. And the Warriors have made the biggest move this summer.
