Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers had a very intense start, with both teams not showing any rust and scoring easily in the first half. As expected, LeBron James and Kevin Durant both had incredible starts, leading their respective teams in scoring.

However, it was Durant who starred the most, as he converted on dunks, mostly in transition, to the delight of the sold-out Oracle Arena crowd. His six dunks in the first 24 minutes of action is a career high for him as he shattered his previous record of four…which was for an entire postseason game.

With the tempo in the first half, it won't be surprising if the former MVP and four-time scoring champion will add more dunks to his personal postseason best. However, one thing that's certain is that he won't mind dunking in the third and fourth quarter, as long as his team ends up with a win on the night and get closer to his first NBA Championship.

Durant finished the half with 23 points, including 10-of-18 from the field, four rebounds, and six assists. Outside of his hot-shooting, he also showed his all-around game, which is a major differential from what Harrison Barnes provided in the 2016 NBA Finals run that the 73-9 Warriors squandered.
