The Golden State Warriors zoomed through much of this year's playoffs mostly unchallenged in their second NBA title in three years.

During a recent interview with Bill Simmons, NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant voiced that he strongly believes it was the Warriors' discipline that helped them bring home another championship.

“We put in work, man. Stop telling that it wasn't earned or we didn't work for it man. We were the most disciplined team all year, we preached teamwork and togetherness all season, and it's hard to do that with a bunch of egos in the league.”

Despite much of the outside chatter and detractors, Golden State stayed the course throughout the year that saw them hit stride in the final month of the regular season heading into the playoffs. It was behind their unselfish style of play that they were able to put together arguably the most dominant run in the playoffs in league history.

Durant played a huge part on that by coming in and immediately blending in his individual game into their playing style and culture from the get-go. His ability to buy into the team philosophy allowed for that to set the table for a nearly unblemished run to his first NBA title.

More importantly, this has put the Warriors in line to compete for another championship next season as the early heavy favorites to repeat and add more hardware well beyond that.
