Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry signed a 4-year $44 million contract extension in 2013 due to the uncertainty of his career.

At the time he had injury problems, mostly with his ankles that kept him out of games more often than he or the team were comfortable with.

That quickly went away after signing the deal, and Curry raised his game to an MVP level unimagined by most.

For that reason, the Warriors got a major bargain when they signed him to that small contract that looks even better now than before.

Next summer he is due for  a new contract, which means his big payday is on the way, and any team in the league would love to have his services.

The problem for other teams is, none of them believe Curry will leave the Warriors and that assessment is spot on.

When asked by the Wall Street Journal about his upcoming ambitions and how he'd handle unrestricted free agency, Curry gave a clear answer without overstating.

“Curveballs happen all the time. It’s hard to see myself anywhere else.”

This is a rare opportunity to sign a large contract, play for one of the best teams in the league with some of the best fans you will find.

It would be hard for anyone to imagine themselves elsewhere given that scenario, and Curry hasn't even envisioned moving to another city or team.

Kevin Durant will likely opt out for a new longer contract, but that shouldn't be a problem with the new revenues expecting to cause a rise in cap space once again.

That also means the team will be able to fill out its roster even better than this year, and they currently hold the best record in the league at 16-2.
