With two MVP awards and a couple of championships to boot at only 29 years old, Stephen Curry isn't letting his basketball success get in the way of his other passion—golf. He continues to improve his tee game, that Curry recently made his professional debut when he joined the Web.com tour's Ellie Mae Classic on Thursday.

The Golden State Warriors star guard proved that he was also human, when he admitted, via Michael Collins of ESPN, that he felt very nervous before taking his first shot. It did not go according to plan as he missed the fairway when he hooked his drive. To everyone’s surprise, it still found its way to the cup—a cupholder that is, inside a golf cart.

“I was gods right up until they said, ‘From Alameda, California…' then I couldn't feel my hands!”

The good news for Curry is that he was close to saving par after hitting a very good chip shot that almost made it to the hole. He then made a short putt, and only ended with a bogey, despite his poor first shot. He ended the first round with a very decent 74, which goes to show the level of talent he has with the sport.

The tournament is a four-day event, with the finalists to be determined after their combined numbers from the first three rounds, with a cut off score needed to be beaten in order to move on. Although Stephen Curry is not the favorite to win it all, he is making a very good account of himself, and proving that the Warriors guard belongs in the playing field.
