How can one not recognize Stephen Curry these days?
The Golden State Warriors’ superstar has been the face of the NBA for many people, owing to his back-to-back MVP awards, an NBA championship, and a historic regular season run last season.
When it comes to grabbing a ride on Uber, Curry, who was in front of a crowd at TechCrunch, confessed to using an alias.
“Those rides with drivers are amazing. They are like the biggest fans, and they tell me … they’re like fan/coach/GM/owner/aspiring basketball player themselves, so those rides are so entertaining because I have an alias, but I get in and they recognize it’s me, and it’s usually a fun ride.”
“I was in an Uber yesterday, and the guy was talking to me about all three (NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Finals, Copa America) going on. Just the excitement over that ten-minute drive that he had, that in a nutshell speaks volumes about how much sports means to the fans around here.”

Of course it won’t help, and Curry should know better than that. Well, he must’ve known but probably still had to make an attempt.
His popularity is expected to rise further this year as the Warriors are expected to once again steamroll their way through the regular season, thanks to a rather big acquisition in Kevin Durant.
