DeMarcus Cousins was traded from the Sacramento Kings to the New Orleans Pelicans two years ago for a package centered on Buddy Hield. This trade allowed the Pelicans to stagger both Cousins and Davis. They could have made a deep playoff run. However, Cousins fully ruptured one of his Achilles' tendons halfway through the 2017-18 season. Even though the Pelicans were able to squeak into the playoffs, they still missed his presence tremendously.

Fortunately, by signing with the Warriors, Cousins was able to rehab his injury and focus on joining the team for the playoff race. And it has been a race indeed. The Warriors just gained control of the West's first seed after the Denver Nuggets have been leading the pack all season long.

Overall, DeMarcus Cousins' presence on the team will be an immense help. It will allow Kerr to experiment with lineups while staggering his stars minutes to keep them fresh and healthy.
