Many believe that the reason why the Golden State Warriors are as good as they are is due to the sheer God-given abilities that their stars possess. While there is some truth to it, Draymond Green believes that it is the team's IQ which has enabled them to be one of the best teams ever assembled.

As reported by Melissa Rohlin of the Bay Area News Group, Green talked about his team's basketball IQ, and how it has to rub off on the rest of the players as well — which also includes JaVale McGee.

“As far as we go, when you look at guys who have a high IQ on our team, it’s our job to make sure we’re doing whatever we can to help other guys who may not be as strong in that area. That all comes with the system we play in, the culture that we’ve built. You don’t want to be the sore thumb sticking out. I think that’s very important. I think it’s one of the most underrated things when you talk about the success that we’ve had — because you can’t really measure it.”

Green added that intelligence is the ultimate key to success. Everyone in the NBA is strong and athletic. But without the proper mental state and preparedness, these traits are useless:

“You have a ton of guys in the league who are super talented,” Green said. “But if you don’t have the brain to go with it, you end up with just that, a bunch of talented guys who usually don’t fit together. Having the smarts behind that is what ties it all together.”
