Kevin Durant is the latest NBA player to rant against the referees as he was thrown out of the Golden State Warriors' game against the New York Knicks, his fourth ejection of the season. During a discussion about Durant's behavior towards officials on NBA Countdown, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst mentioned Draymond Green, which didn’t sit well with the latter.

In retaliation, Green got a little more personal and fired back at Windhorst on Twitter.

Here's Windhorst's segment which Green was pertaining to:

After the Warriors' win over the Knicks, Durant boldly said that he thinks official James Williams targeted him during the game. However, Durant apologized later for the allegations he made against Williams. Windhorst specifically mentioned Green’s comments about the state of officiating in today's NBA when the Warriors forward implied that the current batch of referees should be fired.

“They can get a new crop [of officials], a whole new crop,” Green told Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “Too many personal things going on. Too much me against you. It just don't work that way.”

Windhorst brought up Green’s words in relation to Durant’s behavior towards officials.

“Guys, Draymond Green said every referee should be fired,” Windhorst said. “KD’s been chewing on guys’ ears all season long. KD is right: he is being targeted because he’s made himself a target.”

The tension between the players and officials this season has caused a string of stingy commentaries from players over the past few months. Both sides — not Green and Windhorst, of course — will have a chance to hear one another in a scheduled meeting during the All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.
