Well, this isn't a great start to a road trip. The Golden State Warriors started off their five-game stretch ofy away games by getting shut down by the Philadelphia 76ers. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and the rest of the team couldn't figure out how to stop Joel Embiid, while also getting clamped by the long arms of Matisse Thybulle.

After the game, Draymond Green kept the explanation for this Warriors loss short and succinct. Their inability to make open shots, according to him, is what doomed this team against the loaded Sixers. (via Anthony Slater)

That wasn't the only reason Green pointed out, though. The Warriors defensive stud also pointed to his own performance as one of the reasons they lost, as he felt he played bad on defense.

Amidst all the hype surrounding Stephen Curry potentially breaking the 3PT record, the Warriors faltered. Stephen Curry got shut down by Matisse Thybulle in a lockdown performance for the ages, while Joel Embiid feasted on the Warriors frontline. The Sixers' MVP candidate garnered a near double-double of 26 points and 9 rebounds, as Steve Kerr just had no answer for him.

To be fair to Draymond Green, there's not a lot of players that can realistically stop or slow down Joel Embiid at his best. It's a testament to the Warriors forward's mentality on defense, though, that he's taking his performance seriously. The next time these two teams meet, he and Kerr will have likely have a game plan on hand to counter Embiid's presence.

For now, though, the Warriors are looking towards their next four games, which involve two pairs of back-to-back games.
