Draymond Green didn't get the China tour that Klay Thompson had, but he did get the press looking for him shortly after his Golden State Warriors teammate returned, as Sina.com caught up with him at Holy Names University, where he worked out earlier last month.
The Defensive Player of the Year was asked about how this second championship differs from the first the team won in 2015 — also the first in 40 years of franchise history.
“The second one, the feeling didn't change, still one of the best feelings in the world, but I do think going into the second one, there was just a different mindset, especially after what happened last year,” Green said. “To get back there and basically avenge that loss. I saw guys locked-in and focused at a level that I have never seen before.”
Much was made about the “China Klay” movement and how his trip became so memorable for those following from social media, Green; who got to experience China in prior offseasons, saw just how big of an NBA following there is there and knows his teammate would be able to teach him a thing or two after his annual trips.

“Klay may know a few things now,” Green joked. “He's been over there quite a bit over the last few years. He might be able to teach me a few things.”
Green was even asked about Thompson's dunk fail, which was an internet sensation despite a very busy offseason.
“That video went viral,” Green said. “It was pretty bad.”
“He went straight into our group chat and everybody talked about him. It was a good time, but yeah it was very funny.”
