Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green went down with an ankle injury in the third quarter of their game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Warriors fans certainly held their breath for a minute as their vocal defensive leader writhed in agony on the floor while clutching his ankle. Green was able to muster up the pain, tightened his shoelaces, and stayed in the game. He even made a layup before coming out late in the third quarter.

Warriors announcer Bob Fitzgerald reported during the broadcast that Draymond Green went back in the locker room to have his ankle checked out. However, he returned in the game in the fourth quarter.

From the looks of it, the three-time All-Star didn't turn the ankle as much and avoided a catastrophic scene for Warriors Nation. Still, there's a possibility his ankle could swell up within the next few days. Hopefully, Green won't miss much time.

Golden State certainly cannot afford to have Green go down for an extended period given their bad luck with injuries and COVID-19 health protocols lately. Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has already missed the Warriors' last two games due to a tailbone contusion. Kevon Looney also sat out Saturday's contest against Memphis due to health and safety protocols, leaving Golden State with just Green and sophomore Alen Smailagic as their only two bigs.

Eric Paschall and James Wiseman will still be out over the next week due to health and safety protocols.
