Durant will be making his decision on Sunday night.
The same question has followed Durant throughout the course of the 2018-19 NBA season: where might he go in the summer of 2019?
With one of the best players of this generation set to be a free agent and the Warriors going through some early-season drama, the question was inescapable for KD, who repeatedly skipped media sessions and reiterated his desire to focus on basketball.
Those questions slowly dulled as the playoffs began, with Durant embarking on a personal journey to lead the Warriors to their third straight NBA title. He had completely dominated the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, then outdueled Houston Rockets superstar James Harden for the first few games of the Western Conference semifinals.

Since Durant underwent surgery to repair the ruptured Achilles, there has been an underlying feeling of separation between KD's camp and the Warriors organization.
Durant elected to have his surgery in New York, and he decided that he would take all of his free-agent meetings in the Big Apple. The Knicks have long been a rumored destination for the two-time MVP, and reports swirled that Durant had been in contact with Kawhi Leonard about teaming up in free agency.
But the Warriors have been steadfast in their desire to re-sign Durant and retain all of the core members of this recent dynasty, and they're not going to go down without a fight.
