With less than two weeks left for the end of the regular season, Kevin Durant could envision his Golden State Warriors, already locked into the No. 2 seed, matching up against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“It'd be a fun, incredible matchup,” said Durant. “They gave us some problems earlier this year, think the last time we played them is the team we need to be against these guys. They're physical, they play hard, they get in passing lanes. We gotta take care of the basketball.”
“It'd be a fun series, especially playing in Oklahoma City in that atmosphere, in the playoffs it's always fun.”

The Warriors lost the first two matchups of the season against the Thunder by 17 on Nov. 22 and by 20 in Feb. 6, but responded with a molly-wopping 32-point win following the All-Star break, a result Durant hopes the team can replicate tonight at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
In his first season with the Warriors, Durant had some of his best games against his former team, but OKC has added their very own firepower this time around, with Paul George and Carmelo Anthony having inspired performances in each of their wins earlier in the season.
Golden State will have to do so this time around without Stephen Curry, who's hopeful for a playoff return — but also without some of their key cogs in Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston, Kevon Looney, and Omri Casspi, who are all sidelined for the game.
