Kevin Durant spoke about this past Monday's locker room incident with Draymond Green and claimed that while it brought its share of turmoil and harsh criticism, it also could wind up as the bridge that brings the team together in the long run.

Green abrasively targeted Durant and the way he handled his free agency after the latter questioned his decision-making at the end of regulation during an overtime loss to the L.A. Clippers — one that set off the sparks for a 1-4 week.

The mercurial forward quickly flipped the tables on the Finals MVP in what became a heated locker room spat at the Staples Center, one that has plagued the team since. Durant and Green have spoken plenty since then, airing out their grievances in a more private manner, now hoping this adversity helps them grow stronger as teammates.

“When you go through some adversity in your personal relationships and you kind of lay everything out on the table with that human, that person, you start to just really get an understanding for everything,” Kevin Durant told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “…I feel like we’ll all do that at some point. Not just me and Draymond, but I feel like just being with these guys for so long that you start to get comfortable.”

Just like Draymond Green and Kevin Durant, the entire Warriors locker room has had to survive the melodrama surrounding this story and will likely use it as a way to strengthen their bond and develop a renewed sense of unity moving forward.
