Following the survival of a valiant effort by the Houston Rockets that took them to the brink of elimination, the Golden State Warriors are set to play in their fourth straight NBA Finals that will once again be against the same opponent each of the other times in the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It pushed forward the question as to whether or not this continued rivalry on the league's grandest stage has become too repetitive over the last nearly handful of years. In response to that notion, Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson had a simple, but direct answer, according to Daniel Brown of the San Jose Mercury News.
#Warriors and #Cavs again!?? ‘The rest of the NBA has to get better,’ Klay Thompson says. ‘It’s not our fault.’

The Warriors have worked within the rules to formulate the team that they have structured over the last few seasons with their primary contributors either coming through the draft or free agency. In fact, three of their four All-Stars were acquired through the draft and happen to have turned into high-level talents in the league, which simply made Kevin Durant's arrival the cherry on top. This made them the leading juggernaut in the NBA that has become unstoppable when they are hitting all cylinders on any given night.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have simply been led by LeBron James, who is playing some of the best basketball of his first-ballot Hall of Fame career in his 15th season. This has further cemented his legacy as one of the best players to play the game as he has been the singular driving force for the franchise.
Until another team is able to prove otherwise in the playoffs that they can truly dethrone each of these teams, things could continue to remain the same as both franchises are led by some of the best talents in the league. In the meantime, the two are set to battle it out for the straight time in the NBA Finals.
