The Golden State Warriors cruised through the regular season last year and Draymond Green admitted that it prevented him from enjoying the process.

As reported by Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports,  Green said that during the long season, he and his teammates were looking forward immediately to the playoffs. Though they did get there and had a successful campaign, looking back, Green noted that he didn't enjoy the whole process of getting there:

“Last year we cruised through the year and were looking forward to the playoffs and didn’t enjoy the process along the way,” Green told Yahoo Sports. “In not enjoying the process, it made it that much tougher because you’re not enjoying what you’re doing.”

Similar to this season, the Warriors were top favorites to win the championship last year and defend their title. After all, they had their core group intact. And there weren't any real threats to their crown.

Perhaps this expectation got into the head of the Warriors. Why play through the long season when they themselves know that they'll qualify for the playoffs and make it at least to the Western Conference Finals?

It's a good insight from Green. Amid all the rings they've won so far, he knows that the journey is far more important than the destination. It's easy to get blinded by all the glitz and glamour that success brings forth. But Green knows how to look past it all and reflect on the process that brought him to where he is right now.
