Stephen Curry has been listed as out for the Golden State Warriors against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, but that doesn't mean his tailbone injury is serious.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Curry, in fact, wanted to play for the Warriors. However, the team decided against it as a precautionary measure. After all, they can't afford to play Steph when he's not 100 percent healthy considering that he's their primary scorer and there's no other player who can replace his offensive production with Klay Thompson out for the campaign.
Steph Curry is out tonight in Memphis. Wants to play, but Warriors playing it safe. Calling it day to day. Kelly Oubre will play.

To recall, Curry suffered a tailbone injury against the Houston Rockets last Wednesday after he slipped at the end of the third quarter of the game. He fell to the sideline and hit his behind on the metal staircase, prompting him to writhe in pain. The Warriors sharpshooter didn't return, though the Dubs still won the contest 108-94.
After the game, head coach Steve Kerr emphasized that he doesn't think Stephen Curry's injury is that serious. He explained that doesn't see any forthcoming tests for Steph, adding that he should be available to play when the soreness subsides.
Based on Curry's desire to play for the Warriors after a one-day rest, it sure looks like Dub Nation doesn't have to be worried about the injury to their superstar. While concerns are understandable given that Golden State has no one to replace Steph as they battle for a playoff spot in the West, it's still a great news to hear that he won't be out for long.
