It was reported earlier in the week the Golden State Warriors were going to be without their superstar point guard Stephen Curry for at least another week as he continues to rehab from his tailbone injury.
Nevertheless, the former back-to-back MVP winner seems to be progressing in the right direction with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently providing a rather encouraging update on Curry's current status.
Kerr gave an update, saying Curry is taking the necessary steps towards a possible return sometime next week, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Steph Curry is doing some court work pregame right now. Steve Kerr said he's "making good progress." No word on if he'll practice this weekend. Warriors ruled him out through Monday's home game against the Bulls.

To be clear, nothing has been set in stone just yet. You can expect the Warriors to be extremely cautious on Curry so there's no way they're going to rush him back unless he's close to a hundred percent. Nevertheless, it was Kerr himself who extended Curry's return timeline by another week. And based on this recent update, it seems that the 33-year-old hasn't had any setbacks. As such, it does sound like Curry will be returning to action sooner rather than later.
The Warriors will embark on a three-game road trip next week starting Thursday, and barring any unforeseen issues, Curry could be available for at least one or two of those contests.
Golden State could sure use some firepower right now with the team currently on a three-game skid. Their hopes of a playoff berth this season are slowly fading away as the losses continue to stack up. Curry's return to action should provide a much-needed boost for a struggling Warriors side that's looking to redeem what was an absolutely torrid 2019-20 campaign.
