In the 2009 NBA Draft, Stephen Curry was taken by the Golden State Warriors with the seventh overall pick. However, the sharpshooter thought all along that he's going to the New York Knicks who was drafting at no. 8.

On Wednesday, a day ahead of the NBA Finals, Curry spoke to the media and talked about a variety of stuff. Of course his Knicks link was discussed once again, as he has said before that he “absolutely was wanting” to go to New York.

Curry admitted that the Warriors weren't even in his mind at the time and that he was so focused on getting to the Knicks. Besides, all he knew about Golden State back then was the “We Believe” team that beat the Dallas Mavericks, as well as Baron Davis' iconic dunk.

“When I got drafted, I thought I was going to New York. I didn't even have Golden State on my radar,” Curry shared, per NBA insider Keith Smith.

Stephen Curry, however, has certainly no regrets now that the Warriors drafted him. After all, he is on his way to his sixth Finals appearance in eight years with a chance to win his fourth NBA title.

If you're going to ask other people as well what they know about the Dubs, chances are the “We Believe” team will be second or third on the list. At the top of it now is the dominant run they had in the mid 2010s and probably Curry's unanimous MVP run.

Sorry Knicks fans!
