Following the recent lawsuit against Draymond Green brought into the forefront by a California-based attorney, related to last year's incident in East Lansing, Michigan — the Golden State Warriors have released a statement regarding their All-Star forward.
“This lawsuit relates to an incident that occurred in East Lansing, Michigan over a year ago, for which Draymond paid a noise violation fine,” the statement read, via ESPN's Marc J. Spears. “Draymond looks forward to defending himself and clearing up the misinformation put forth today.”
The lawsuit is tied to an incident from last July in which he allegedly slapped former Michigan State football player Jermaine Edmondson. The incident was preceded by an encounter two nights prior, allegedly involving Edmondson, his girlfriend, Green and two of his friends.

“I am just letting my attorneys handle the situation,” Green told ESPN on Monday. “I am hopeful and confident this will be resolved soon.”
The attorney, Lisa Bloom, and her pending lawsuit alleges assault, battery and related claims based on the forward's “alleged acts of violence against a young man and woman,” which are presumed to be Edmondson and his girlfriend, who remains anonymous to date, according to The Bloom Firm.
