The Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers will tip off the first game of their first-round series this Sunday afternoon inside Oracle Arena. Although it is a match-up between a heavily-favored #1 seed and the 8th seeded Blazers, news surfaced that there's a scheduling conflict for a potential game. A team's spokesperson has given a statement regarding the situation.

With hip-hop star Chance the Rapper scheduled to perform in the venue on April 26, Tim Cato of SB Nation reported that he received word from the Dubs PR team that they will reschedule the concert and prioritize the playoff game instead. It was also mentioned that the Warriors already knew about the potential issue and had already prepared a contingency plan should the series reach a fifth game.

“When booking concert events at the arena during a playoff run, we typically schedule contingency dates for that event. The Warriors will have the priority on April 26th.”

“A formal announcement for the Chance the Rapper show is in the works, pending that the show will be moved.”

The announcement should put to rest all the qualms the fans are feeling about the scheduling of both events. However, the Oakland team is still heavily favored to win, or possibly sweep, their first round opponents. Should that come to fruition, the city's residents will not only see their NBA team enjoy additional rest before playing in the conference semis, but also get the chance to watch the rapper and songwriter perform live on the originally scheduled date.
