Kevin Durant may have been born and raised in Washington D.C., but he has admitted that he grew up watching a lot of New York City basketball. Now in the offseason and fresh off his first NBA championship, the reigning Finals MVP is enjoying his summer and was in The Big Apple recently where he opened an NYC Charity Foundation Court.
The Golden State Warriors star forward posted a video on his YouTube channel to give his fans a glimpse of some of the fun he had during the trip. He was able to spend a lot of time with his fans in the city and visited different schools, courts and even a basketball shoe store in Harlem.
Article Continues BelowDurant may be a fierce competitor on the court, but outside of it, he always finds time to give back to communities and to get closer to his fans. The court he opened in New York is one of many projects he has lined up to help grow the game of basketball even more, as well as support some charities that aim to improve the lives of many.
The summer has already been a very eventful one for Durant. However, with almost two months before the start of training camp, he can still make a few more trips and also take some vacations, as he has definitely earned it following last season’s grind. Once training camp opens, it’s back to work for him, as they prepare for the next campaign, where the Dubs will look to win their second consecutive title with Durant leading their charge.
