To end the first half of Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry made his routine buzzer-beater near half-court.
As seen in the clip below, with the clock winding down, the Warriors pushed the ball after a stop on the defensive end. Lo and behold, they immediately found Curry — the best shooter on the planet who has a penchant for casually draining half-court buzzer beaters.
What made the situation worse for the Cavaliers is that J.R. Smith went for the steal and failed. This opened up Curry for a wide open look from way beyond downtown.
Article Continues BelowAny other player would've missed the shot. After all, no one shoots that far that often. But Curry is tagged as the best marksman in the NBA. He practices these shots on a daily basis. Smith should've known better than go for the steal. He could've just stuck to Curry and let others shoot it.
The buzzer-beating three knotted the game at 56 apiece. It was a good end to the half for the Warriors. The Cavaliers, meanwhile, need to pick up the momentum again. The Warriors are looming on a strong third quarter yet again.
