Despite being already worn out after a game where he scored 45 points against the L.A. Clippers, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry still took time to share a special moment with one of his young fans. The Warriors guard granted the wish of 13-year-old Jaylen Winzer, who is battling a rare form of bone cancer.
Curry met with him outside the visiting team’s locker room at Staples Center on Saturday. Curry then handed him his jersey and a pair of shoes he wore during the pre-game warmups, which the young fan gladly accepted. Curry then told him that he appreciates his visit and gave the young warrior some words of encouragement.

This is not the first time that the former back-to-back MVP has given his young fans a memory they will remember for a very long time. In the past few seasons, Stephen Curry has surprised children in different venues, including basketball camps and hospitals, and spent time with them. It only goes to show that the Warriors guard wants to touch as many lives as he can and use his stature as a medium to inspire many people.
Other NBA stars have also been giving back to communities and fans around the world. Beyond the gifts or items they hand over, their mere presence already inspires fans to pursue their dreams regardless of the situation they are in.
Curry hopes he’ll have the same effect on Jaylen and that the latter will draw strength from their meeting to help him fight the Big C.
