The Dallas Mavericks received some bad news Tuesday morning regarding Seth Curry.
The other (real) Splash Brother will undergo surgery on his left tibia and will be out for the rest of the season, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry will have season-ending surgery on his left tibia, league sources tell ESPN. Recovery process is expected to take 12-14 weeks, and Curry is expected to be fully recovered and on the court by the start of July 1 free agency.

Curry has been since early October, when he was diagnosed with a stress reaction in that left tibia. At that point, he was labeled as being out indefinitely.
The Mavericks made updates on Curry's status throughout the entire process. In fact, in late November, it was reported that Curry could be back on Dec. 11. But that date clearly came and went without Curry coming back.
Now, Curry will bit the bullet and go under the knife to take care of his injury once and for all. What is unfortunate is Curry felt he was going to have a very good season and have an increased role for the Mavericks before he suffered the injury.

The most difficult thing for Curry is just his season has to end and he has to go through a long rehabilitation process, which are always difficult on players because all they want to do is play the game they love.
Curry is also on the last year of this contract, and he will be a free agent this summer. Having surgery now will certainly decrease his value and make it difficult for him to be enticing for other teams to pick him up in free agency.
But Curry is a good player, so maybe that won't be a problem. Time will tell on that.
Curry should just focus on rehab and getting back to 100 percent, and the rest should take care of itself.
