Though he hasn't seen much playing time as of late, the Memphis Grizzlies are showing strong signs of interest in free agent center Joakim Noah, according to a report from Marc Stein of The New York Times.

In his report, Stein also notes that talks between Noah and the Grizzlies have been ongoing for a few days now.

The Grizzlies are off to a solid start to this season. In fact, Memphis is currently holding a 10-5 record, which is good for the No. 1 spot in the Southwest Division. If they were to add Noah to the roster, he could help the team on the defensive end of the floor.
Noah, now 33 years of age, holds career averages of 8.9 points on 49.0 percent shooting from the field, 9.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 block and just under one steal (0.8) in 28.6 minutes per outing.
Noah was waived by the New York Knicks via the stretch provision before the regular season began. His best stint in the league may have been with the Chicago Bulls, however, where he earned All-Star honors in 2013 and 2014 under then-head coach Tom Thibodeau. The former Florida Gator was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.
Marc Gasol is already the established big man in Memphis, but Noah could serve as a solid backup. Whether or not the Grizzlies will indeed bring him aboard remains to be seen. Health would be a concern, but the team could use a bit more depth in the frontcourt. For now, stay tuned.
