Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edward shared an insightful take about his team's losing ways in the 2020-21 NBA season. The 19-year-old guard addressed the team's inability to close out games shortly after the Wolves dropped a 120-114 result to the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center on Friday.
“We know how to compete but we don't know how to win yet. Once we learn how to win, the questions will change,” Edwards said, via Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
The Wolves entered the season with great optimism after they picked Anthony Edwards first overall in last year's draft. Against the Hornets, Edwards pitched in 21 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the field, along with six rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes.
The 6-foot-4 neophyte has faced a tough learning curve early in his pro career, while the Timberwolves' consistent losing has also taken its toll on him. Still, it's nice to see a youngster like Anthony Edwards keep a positive mindset despite all the challenges his team is facing.
