The 2022 NBA Offseason has reached its peak, with trade rumors and free agency signings flying left and right. Now, there are new developments involving the Minnesota Timberwolves and Rudy Gobert.

According to Minnesota sports reporter Darren Wolfson, the Timberwolves' interest to pair Gobert with Karl-Anthony Towns is “very real.” Wolfson went back on his previous claim that it would be difficult to see Gobert land with the Timberwolves.

He tweeted the latest developments Friday morning.

UPDATE: Timberwolves acquire Rudy Gobert in blockbuster trade with Jazz

This could be big for the Timberwolves. And, it comes just after ESPN's Brian Windhorst explained why the Utah Jazz seems to be preparing for a complete rebuild. He noted the trade between the Jazz and the Brooklyn Nets, which seemed to have gotten lost in the drama of Kevin Durant's trade request. The Jazz traded role-player Royce O'Neal in exchange for a 2023 first-round pick.

The trade is a huge sign that the Jazz is looking to start over completely. And, if that's the case, Gobert is headed elsewhere.

Towns and Gobert would be a great core for the Timberwolves to work with moving forward. Minnesota has a lot of talented players, and it's unclear what assets the team would use to obtain him.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are also interested in acquiring the Jazz center. And, as of recently, they are the favorites to make the trade.
