New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis has his team on a roll right now and has put up some unbelievable numbers over the last month. In a tweet on Saturday afternoon from Will Guillory of The Times-Picayune, Davis responded to all the national media attention he's received lately due to his stellar play.
“I don't pay attention to any of it. I just go out there and play basketball,” Davis said. “You hear your name, then you don't hear your name, then hear your name. It just goes back and forth.”
During the month of February, Davis was an absolute beast on the court and averaged a whopping 35.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.2 blocked shots per game in 11 contests.
However, the 24-year-old star forward's name has most notably been brought up in the national media by Fox Sports' Skip Bayless, who said that Davis was the most overrated player in basketball and it got some hilarious responses from the Pelicans' official Twitter account.

“We're very close. When he went down, we had to become even more close because guys had to step up. This is probably one of the closest teams I've ever been on,” Davis said. “These guys really like each other. They like playing with each other. When we have a team like that, we can be tough to beat.”
The Pelicans (35-26) will look for their eighth straight victory on Sunday night when they travel to take on the lowly Dallas Mavericks (19-44) at American Airlines Center.
