The New York Knicks have a need to upgrade their point guard room, which is why they are among the top active suitors of pending free agent Dallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson. But there's also the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft where the Knicks can use their 11th pick overall in the first round to address that positional need.
That being said, one of the players who has captured New York's interest will likely be off the board by the time the Knicks take their first turn to select.

Ivey, though, is all but assured to be selected within the first six picks of the draft, where the Indiana Pacers are considered by several executives contacted by B/R as his floor.
Of course, Ivey is not the only elite point guard prospect in the 2022 NBA Draft, but the Knicks might not be willing to gamble to reach for a different guard at that pick, especially since it was not that long ago when they wasted no. 8 pick on Frank Ntilikina back in 2017.
In two seasons in college in Purdue Boilermakers threads, Ivey averaged 17.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
