The New York Knicks are reportedly trying to move up in the 2021 NBA Draft, and that could be bad news for Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

According to NBA insider Chad Ford, the Knicks are “aggressively” working to trade up and make their way into the lottery. They are said to be targeting Oregon standout Chris Duarte, who is projected to be in the Top 14 or 15 picks.

For what it's worth, the latest NBA mock drafts have the 24-year-old Dominican guard landing on the Warriors with the No. 14 pick. He could be a serviceable backup to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson off the bench, especially since he is known for his shooting.

In fact, the Warriors reportedly had a “competitive workout” with Duarte alongside Trey Murphy, Moses Moody and Davion Mitchell–other potential lottery picks.

It remains to be seen with whom the Knicks can trade or what they can offer to do just that. As Ford mentioned, the Charlotte Hornets (picking 11th) and Indiana Pacers (13th) are potential trade partners since both will pick ahead of the Warriors. However, offering the 19th and 21st picks they own are reportedly not enough to make any deal happen.

As for the Warriors, if they are eyeing Duarte as well, they will surely be hoping that the Knicks don't get the trade they want come Thursday evening.
